Rika and Alain are lovers of Rockin’ Blues and lazy foodies who love enjoying foods from around the world and also cook fusion dishes mixing items from various food cultures from around the world in new tasty ways.

We’re both also mindful health freaks trying to stay healthy, in shape, and be good souls who are committed to our daily rituals of meditation and yoga.

One day we had a stroke of inspiration feeling tremendous potential with seaweeds which, until then, we ourselves hadn’t really properly considered as ingredients to use to cook with and enjoy other than having them in traditional Japanese ways such as our using Nori seaweed for wrapping Sushi rolls and Onigiri rice balls or using Wakame seaweed in some Miso soup with tofu.

It was very interesting learning that Buddhist monks had introduced seaweeds into the Japanese diet including them in their vegetarian Shojin Ryori dishes served in Buddhist temples.

So, once we started discovering how nutritious and good Seaweeds are for both our own health and the health of our planet, we began trying mixing in some of these sea vegetables into the dishes we both had already enjoyed to learn that they work really well into many different types of dishes in creative ways in which seem to us to make good sense beyond our only being used for the traditional Japanese dishes which we were familiar with using seaweeds for Dashi soup stock, adding flavor enhancing “umami,” interesting textures, and additional overall nutritional value to your meals.

It was also around the time we were both slowly shifting ourselves towards a more and more pescatarian diet, and thanks to seaweed—- a perfect ingredient providing us both fun and flavor to our everyday dishes while replacing consumption of meat products—- we continue having great joy in creating various new healthy culinary delicacies to enjoy while also enjoying good health with the environment friendly seafood of the future which we are pleased to share with you here from Tokyo, Japan.

May the sharing our selection of high quality premium Japanese seaweeds and the goodness of the blessings of the sea help to continue contributing making positive changes around the world towards the good health of each and every one of us and also the good health of our planet.

Enjoy seaweed!
